Coding and Reimbursement Specialist
When you go see your physician, all services provided — including the visit itself — are represented by codes for diagnosis, procedure, and supply. Each of these is distinct and requires education and experience to select properly. Failure to assign the correct set of codes generally results in a failure to get paid. Without revenue, physicians and health facilities cannot do the excellent work they do to take care of us.
The majority of these codes are assigned by certified professional coders; this helps to ensure the providers and facilities that their revenue stream is strong and secure.
